As you probably know, we love a charitable challenge here at ClientsFirst. In 2018, we defeated the Lake’s 8 Peak Challenge for the British Heart Foundation, trekking over 18.8 miles in just 12 hours!
But next year we’re taking it to the next level…
On the 16th of May 2020, we’ll be taking on the 'Classic Jurassic' version of the Jurassic Coast Challenge in aid of Mind. The challenge consists of a 21-mile hike in one day. That’s an extra two miles on top of what we did last time and yes, we’re starting to worry about what we’ve let ourselves in for!
We’ve chosen Mind for our 2020 charity of the year as it's a cause that’s very close to our hearts. 1 in 4 adults experience a mental health issue every year in the UK and at any given time, 1 in 6 working adults have symptoms associated with a mental health issue.
There’s a high chance that you know someone who has experienced a mental health problem over the course of their lives. You may even know someone who is currently suffering from a mental health issue and you’re just not aware of it.
Mental well-being is something we place the utmost importance on within the business and we wanted our charity of the year to reflect that fact.
Just a reminder, we’re walking 21 miles in just one day over hills, along coast lines and across rocky outcrops. It’s the equivalent of walking from Manchester to Warrington in a under a day, and then some.
The challenge is going to be a serious test of stamina for all the members of the team and we’d love it if you could support us by visiting our Just Giving page here.
However, the Jurassic Coast Challenge is not the only charitable mission we’ll be embarking on in 2020. There will be bake sales, bucket collections, tennis tournaments, quiz nights and t-shirt sales - among a whole host of other fundraising activities that you can be a part of.
Watch this space for any updates on how you can get involved with our charity of the year. Please feel free to get involved in any way you can, so we can help support the charity that helps bring peace of mind to those who need it.
