Charity Bake Day

By Lindsey Russell January 29, 2018 News

The Queen of Hearts, she made some tarts… and cupcakes...

You may have thought January was all about detoxing and dieting. Well, at CIientsFirst we decided it was the month for running a Bake Sale in aid of our Charity of the Year, the British Heart Foundation.

This was the first of our monthly charity events in the run up to the challenges we’re all embarking on in September - a sky dive for some intrepid souls and a trek over 8 peaks in the Lake District in just one day for the others. The amount we need to raise, £5,000, is a challenge in itself so we’ve planned a series of monthly events to make it more manageable - hopefully!

Wednesday 24th Jan was decreed the day and so the night before, Team Bake, laden with flour, eggs, sugar and lots of chocolate went home to... bake!

Posters were put up on every spare bit of wall and the event was duly publicised.

Team Bake didn’t let us down. There may not have been any tarts but there were brownies, cupcakes and cookies in abundance, not to mention a welly cake! Caramel crispies, lemon drizzle and red velvet - whatever your favourite, we had it.

Mary Berry or Bezzer, as we like to call her, would have been most impressed by the professionalism of the heart decorations.

Team Sell then sprang into action! Platters were filled and off they went, tempting the employees of neighbouring companies in our building and further afield with all sorts of goodies.

A huge thanks to the residents of Riverside, our landlord Janhill and those companies where we made deliveries. We completely sold out and raised a fantastic £175 - their generosity and love of cake is much appreciated.

Look out for our next event and meanwhile if you’d like to donate, you can visit our page here. Every little bit helps us on our way - thank you!

We think the Queen of ‘HEARTS’ would be mighty proud of such an amazing start to our 2018 fundraising!
